The opening of the exhibition „30 years of the pontificate of John Paul II ”

On Wednesday 08.10.2008 a multimedia exhibition was open at the Lending Room for Adults and Young people No. 116. It was devoted to 30 years of the pontificate of the Pope John Paul II.

From 2nd to 9th July there were the Days of Ursus and at the Lending Room for Adults the librarians had prepared a photographic exhibition devoted to the history of Ursus from 1965 to 2005. The author of the presented photographs is Ireneusz Barski, the journalist, the press photographer and the animator of the culture, who had been fascinated with Ursus for many years.

On Sunday 22nd of June the fete "Safe Streets" was organised by the local government in Ursus District. It was inaugurating the holiday season. Apart from the police, the fire-brigades and the lifeguards, demonstrating the rules of the correct behaviour in different situations during summer the cultural institutions disseminated the programmes of their activities for the children, spending their holiday in the city.
