Workshops for the students from Instytut Informacji Naukowej i Studiów Bibliologicznych UW (the Institute if Science Information and Bibliology Studies of Warsaw University)

On Monday 3rd July 2006 the Public Library organised 4-hour workshops for students from Warsaw University. The workshops had been planned in the cooperation with Centrum Edukacji Bibliotekarskiej, Informacyjnej i Dokumentacyjnej CEBID (The Centre of Librarian, Information and Documentary Education). The subject of the workshops were intercultural education and the pedagogical methods of working with children proposed by Klanza organization.
Piotr Jankowski was talking about the aims and tasks of intercultural education. He presented different definitions of intercultural education and explained all the theoretical aspects of it, according to the studies of the educators from BARFIE Network.

Małgorzata Kołodziejczyk showed some authentic materials such books from BARFIE collection and she was leading the workshops, how to use those books in intercultural education of children and young people. Then she presented an English lesson, using a Portuguese story and explained some intercultural aspects of that story.

Marta Regulska was leading the workshops called “Creative meetings with books”, using Klanza’s methods of working with children.

The special guest of the meeting was Mirosława Majewska – the vice director of Centrum Edukacji Bibliotekarskiej, Informacyjnej i Dokumentacyjnej CEBID (The Centre of Librarian, Information and Documentary Education).

The next workshops will take place on Friday 7th July for the second group of students.
